Deputy Chairperson Of The MPR Asks For Medical Treatment Education For Breast Cancer Survivors Intensified

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly Lestari Moerdijat asked for medical treatment education for breast cancer survivors because so far there are still problems with knowledge and delays in treatment through medical channels.

He said the main challenge for all parties is the matter of education to the public so as not to be trapped in the desire to heal themselves through alternative routes.

"Meanwhile, the government has provided opportunities for open access to treatment through BPJS," Lestari said as quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, October 26.

According to him, one of the problems currently being faced is the limited knowledge and delay in treatment which contributes greatly to the high mortality rate.

This, he said, must be a separate homework for various parties.

"The limitations of knowledge, delays in treatment will certainly have an impact on the life and journey of patients," he said.

He also appreciated the launch of a book entitled 'About Answering About Breast Cancer' written by Dr. Inez Nimpuno MPS MA, as an effort to intensify medical treatment education in curing breast cancer survivors.

The presence of the book, he said, is expected to be an oase in the midst of limited sources of credible information and can lead cancer survivors to recover.

The book can be a credible guiding source for survivors in taking medical steps.

"Today we are certainly happy because this book is present in our midst. We have distributed the 300 books to survivors in Central Java, they are very happy because this is what they have been waiting for," he said.
