BYD Collaborates With Honor To Unite Cellphones And Cars In One System

JAKARTA Automotive company BYD and smartphone maker Honor recently announced a strategic collaboration. Both, want to unite mobile devices with vehicles, to create an intelligent ecosystem.

Reported by Arena EV, Saturday, October 25, this collaboration will connect Honor's expertise in car connectivity solutions with the new generation BYD system, DiLink. Engineers from both parties will work together to build a cross-platform ecosystem that focuses on integration of artificial intelligence or AI.

One of the innovations in the spotlight is the development of Bluetooth-based digital car keys with high precision. This makes the user's Honor smartphone a digital key that can lock, unlock, and start BYD electric cars without the need to remove the phone from your pocket or bag.

Furthermore, the integration of these phones also includes features such as 'app continuity'. For example, navigation routes that start on users' phones then instantly appear on the main screen of the car when the driver enters the cabin.

Other promised features include monitoring the phone screen to the appearance of the car (screen mirroring) and privacy modes designed to handle user messages so that they are not visible to unauthorized passengers.

The collaboration between BYD and Honor is said to be an important step in the unification of electronic devices and intelligent vehicles. If so far the integration system of cars and cellphones is still felt limited, this collaboration is encouraged to present solutions to provide a fully connected driving experience.
