13th Anniversary Of Kaltara Province, Provincial Government Focuses On Accelerating Connectivity And Border Economic Independence
The North Kalimantan (Kaltara) Provincial Government (Pemprov) continues to strengthen its commitment to building connectivity and economic independence in border areas.
This was conveyed by the Governor of Kaltara, Zainal Arifin Paliwang, after leading the ceremony to commemorate the 13th Anniversary of Kaltara Province at Agatis Field, Saturday, October 25.
"God willing, we prioritize connectivity between regions, especially in Malinau and Nunukan. Hopefully, basic necessities for our brothers and sisters at the border can be immediately dropped from Malinau, not from outside the province," said Governor Zainal.
He emphasized that the development of connecting infrastructure is one of the main focuses of the current government. According to him, good connectivity will accelerate the distribution of goods, reduce logistics costs, and strengthen the economic competitiveness of the people in the border area with Malaysia.

"In the midst of national economic pressure, Kaltara recorded a positive achievement with an inflation rate that was successfully suppressed at 2.1 percent. This achievement is the result of collaboration between local governments, business actors, and the community," said Zainal.
"We are trying to maintain price stability with cheap markets and social assistance. In addition, MSMEs also play an important role because they are able to strengthen the local economy," he continued.
Zainal also gave his appreciation to small and medium enterprises who helped reduce the pace of inflation through the production and promotion of local products.
"In the momentum of commemoration of the 13th Anniversary, the Kaltara Provincial Government launched local Air Mineral Kaltara products in the Heart as the first step in strengthening regional natural resources-based industries," he said.
Although currently still produced outside Kaltara, the government plans to build a bottled drinking water processing plant in its own area by 2026.
Kaltara has excellent and unpolluted water potential. Next year, we are targeting to be able to produce our own value in order to provide added value to the region," explained the Governor.
The governor also emphasized that the 13th Anniversary of Kaltara Province was held simply without luxury, but still presented people's entertainment. This concept is a form of appreciation to the community for their contribution to building Kaltara.
"We celebrate it simply, but that doesn't mean without entertainment. This is a form of appreciation for the people who have helped build Kaltara," he added.
The governor emphasized that Kaltara's journey, which is only 13 years old, is still long. Therefore, the spirit of collaboration between the government, the business world, and society must be maintained so that the vision of Advanced, Prosperous, and Sustainable Kaltara can be realized.
