Regarding The 2026 Private Fuel Quota, Bahlil: Only For Those Who Obey The Rules

JAKARTA - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Ladalia opened his voice regarding the additional quota for imports of fuel oil (BBM) for private downstream oil and gas enterprises (BU) in 2026.

Bahlil said, the government will continue to provide quotas in 2026 with the same amount.

"Regarding 2026, we will also provide quotas and we will apply the same applies to companies that want to obey the rules," said Bahlil, Friday, October 24.

Regarding the amount of the quota, Bahlil gave a signal that he would set the same number as the 2025 tahu, which was 110 percent of the 2024 quota.

"Until now, my mind is still like that (110 percent). Except if there are a little bit of things. We'll think about it," said Bahlil.

He also emphasized that the government had provided a fuel quota of 110 percent. For this reason, he also advised private fuel entrepreneurs to comply with government regulations. He admitted that the government should not be wrong to entrepreneurs, but this attitude must also be respected not arbitrarily with the rules set.

"The government cannot be wronged against entrepreneurs. But entrepreneurs also do not regulate the government. The government and the private sector must be together," he explained.

Bahlil also emphasized that the government has an obligation to protect entrepreneurs, but entrepreneurs are also obliged not to regulate the government.

"Entrepreneurs also have an obligation not to regulate the government. We both need it. What for? For the good of the people of the nation and state," said Bahlil.
