Joining Independent Label, Jinan Laetitia Launches Single Beginner As New Round Marker

JAKARTA - Young singer-writer Jinan Laetitia, officially marks a new chapter of her musical journey with the independent label Pon Your Tone, by introducing a new single entitled Beginner.

This song is a work that Jinan calls the exploration of honest and not burdened musicals, as well as a declaration of full freedom in writing songs.

'The starter' is not just a song, but an inscription of Jinan's courage to fully become himself, free from the shadow of the big label that once houses him. This song feels like a breath of relief after a long breath of air: fresh, crowded, and straightforward without aesthetic make-up.

The decision to release this single comes at a time when Jinan's life is full of new sheets. He left the old label and started a relationship, a period filled with a mix of passion and fear.

"I wrote The starter in my life again with many new startings phases," said Jinan, telling about his new journey in music, through a press release, Friday, October 24.

At that time I just got out of the old label, just started a relationship, and a lot of things came together. It feels like I interfered between excitement and fear. But I remember the first time I played music, I didn't have anything, I didn't know anything, but it turned out to be working. So I thought, if in the past I could, now I can. And that's the spirit: spirit of being a blowinger.

Interestingly, although Jinan called "The Starter" a love song, he chose not to wrap it up with 'gullery'. The lyrics, which he wrote with his fianc and creative partner, Matter Mos, use a realistic, honest everyday language style, but still bring warmth.

In that way, Jinan wants to convey the essence of complex love, which is born from the lowest point of relationship.

"I'm writing this song again at a really low point of relationship," he said. "There was a moment when I really felt tired, like I wanted to just give up. But after breaking up, I realized that I was really sad without him. I felt empty, but also knew that I didn't want to live without that person."

"From there I realized, maybe there was no easy relationship, but if both of them want to keep learning, there must be a way. And I changed that to something optimistic. I want this song to still have hope, even though it was born from a difficult thing.

In terms of musical arrangements, which were worked on with electronics producer Greybox, The starter caught the uproar of the atmosphere in the morning in Jakarta which was in a hurry. However, behind the fast-pulsing city rhythm, there was a spirit that underlies the struggle: doing your best for the sake of loved ones.

Through this single, Jinan hopes that listeners can reflect on the meaning behind every daily struggle of theirs. "I hope people who listen to this song can remember the meaning behind the things they do," he said.

"Why do we work, why do we fight, why do we still survive in something that sometimes makes us tired. Because there is always something bigger behind it. Whether it's love, family, dreams, or even just wanting to be better," added Jinan.

The 'Starting' is also the opening of the EP of the same name which will contain five songs. This single can already be heard on all digital streaming platforms, along with the release of the lyric video on Jinan Laetitia's YouTube channel.
