CULTURE GO!: Indonesian Culture Enters The Era Of Digital Innovation

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Culture officially launched BUDAYA GO!, Indonesia's cultural digital innovation competition with the theme Opening the Future of Indonesian Culture, at Plaza Insan Berprestasi, Jakarta, Thursday (23/10). This program is a concrete step to bring together cultural actors and the digital community in a collaborative space that gives birth to innovative solutions for the promotion of national culture.

In the video presentation, the Minister of Culture Fadli Zon emphasized the importance of maintaining cultural relevance in the digital era. "Technology opens up great opportunities for cultural preservation and promotion. With innovation, our legacy can continue to live in the midst of digital society," he said.

This inaugural year's competition is open to two categories of 'students and professionals' with a total prize of IDR 450 million for the best 20 teams.

Meanwhile, Director General of Development, Utilization, and Culture Development Ahmad Mahendra added, technology is a bridge between the past and the future. There is a connection between the past, the present, and the future. One of the efforts to connect it is through technology, in addition to the noble values we have. Technology continues to develop, so we must continue to update it," he explained.

Witnessed directly by hundreds of invitees who attended, through the video recording of Menbud Fadli Zon officially opened a series of activities. We believe that digital innovation opens new space for cultural actors to work, collaborate, and bring back cultural values in a more modern, interactive, and easily accessible way to the luat community. Moreover, it opens up opportunities to create a sustainable cultural economy," concluded Menbud Fadli.

The launch ended with a discussion entitled Cultural and Technology Meeting Point with Basuki Teguh Yuwono and Shinta Dhanuwardoyo, discussing how to place technology proportionally in cultural practice.
