BYD Ready To Crash European Market With Atto 2 DM-i, Will It Enter Indonesia?

JAKARTA - BYD appears to be preparing a new weapon in the European market, with the immediate launch of its popular SUV Atto 2 which is now pinned Dual Mode-intelligent (DM-i), to revitalize sales.

Quoting from the Paultan page, Friday, October 24, the Chinese manufacturer has just shared an official image of him who will make his world debut at Luxembourg at this week's Fleet Europe Days event.

The details are still minimal, but the Chinese brand has confirmed two variants, each with output numbers, battery sizes, and different ranges. At the highest trim, DM-i will produce an electric range of up to 90 km with an WLTP rating, which means a total range of 1,020 km.

In comparison, Atto 2 electricity has a total range of 345 km on the WLTP cycle through the lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery Blade 51.13 kWh. However, the UK has a larger 64.8 kWh option, which can cover a distance of 430 km on a single charge.

This car is expected to use an efficiency-oriented Dual Mode powertrain with Seal 6 DM-i consisting of a four-cylinder Atkinson cycle of 1.5 liters naturally aspirated and front electric motors.

Based on the images displayed, not much has changed from a purely electric version, except for the gas tank cap which is clearly visible on the left back of the spatbor. The addition of an internal combustion engine requires the installation of a larger mid-air intake, which removes an inverse U-shaped EV body color strip, and there is a different design for 17-inch gray rims.

Ordering this model will be opened soon after the launch, with deliveries starting in the first quarter of 2026. Will it enter Indonesia? Currently, the model is not yet present in the country, but the PHEV market is getting busier.
