Director Talks About Crazy Rich Asians Series Plans, Ready To Produce
JAKARTA - Director Jon M. Chu talked about the continuation of the planned Crazy Rich Asians series which was announced for a long time. This series is adapted from a book written by Kevin Kwak and is planned to be made for HBO Max.
"This is a real thing. We have a script and we are waiting for the official side to give the green light," Jon M. Chu told Empire.
"It's hard to work on the continuation of the book because our characters have changed so much since the first film. It's different from the book, even though it feels like the same," he said.
Director Wicked became the director for his film adaptation which aired in 2018 after being first announced in 2012.
"Even though we can't equalize one by one, we can use a lot of inspiration from his book to dig up the story," said Jon M. Chu.
Hingga saat ini, mereka belum mengungkap siapa aktor yang akan memerankan serial Crazy Rich Asians ini, namun mereka memastikan serial ini layak menunggu.
The Crazy Rich Asians series was announced by Warner Bros. with producer Adele Lim who wrote the film with Peter Chiarelli.

In February, it was reported that the cast in the film would not join the serial version, but the story would be taken based on his book.
Crazy Rich Asians film earned $239 million for global broadcast and received a Golden Globe nomination.
Crazy Rich Asians tells of Rachel Chu, a professor of NYU who is dating Nick for a long time until they travel to Singapore to attend Nick's best friend's wedding. Rachel just found out Nick is not an ordinary person.
This year, Jon M. Chu will return with the film Wicked: For Good, as well as several other animated films.
