Case Of Boy Died In Depok, Police Dismantle Tomb To Reveal Stepmother Violence

Depok Metro Police carried out the demolition of the tomb or exhumation of the body of a six-year-old boy with the initials MAA who was allegedly killed by violence by his stepmother with the initials RN (30), at Griya Citayam Permai Housing, Rawa Panjang Village, Bojonggede District, Bogor Regency, West Java.

Kasatreskrim Polresta Metro Depok, Kompol Made Gede Oka Utama, said the exhumation action was taken to strengthen the ongoing investigation process.

"The exhumation is used to support the investigation process that we have carried out. The activity went smoothly in coordination with the forensic team at Kramat Jati Hospital, starting at 10.00 to 11.15 WIB," Made said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, October 24.

He explained that investigators strongly suspect that the victim died as a result of the abuse carried out by his own stepmother on Sunday (19/10) night.

"From the fact of the examination of witnesses, the incident began when the victim was beaten by RN at around 21.00 WIB until he was helpless or lying down," said Made.

However, instead of helping, the perpetrator left the victim to pick up her husband who was the victim's biological father at her workplace in Jakarta.

"Ironically, the suspect allowed the victim and followed her husband to convey that his stepdaughter was helpless due to falling," he said.

At around 23.00 WIB, the two of them arrived back home and found the victim dead. The victim was then taken to his grandmother's house for bathing and buried the next day.

"Both of them arrived home at around 23.00 WIB, seeing that the victim was already stiff. Then they were taken to the house of the victim's grandmother, who was not far from the location to be buried," said Made.

Investigators also found allegations that the perpetrator had committed violence against the child several times before the incident.

"We suspect this act of violence will not only occur on the day of the incident, but has been carried out repeatedly," he said.

The results of exhumation and forensic autopsy are expected to reveal the exact cause of death of the victim as well as strengthen evidence in the investigation of the suspect RN.
