After IPhone Fold, Apple Prepares IPhone Without Bezel And Flip Version In 2027 '2028

JAKARTA - Apple seems to be preparing three consecutive years of new iPhone design innovations after the launch of the iPhone Fold which is expected to come in 2026. According to a recent leak from the Yaux1122 leaker account citing an OLED market report on Naver, Apple plans to present a new form factor' each year from 2026 to 2028 starting from a folding model, then a design without bezels, and finally a flip model.

The first model, the iPhone Fold, is said to be a foldable in the form of a book' with a flexible LTPO+ OLED screen measuring about 7.76 inches on the inside and 5.49 inches on the outside. This device is predicted to be Apple's entrance to a foldable phone, while bridging the tablet and smartphone experience.

However, the report also states that Apple is still facing technical difficulties in designing its folding hinge. If the problem is unresolved on time, the launch of the iPhone Fold could be delayed until 2027.

After that, Apple will introduce an iPhone without bezels in 2027 to coincide with the iPhone's 20th anniversary. The model is said to have an OLED display with four curved sides (four-edge ending OLED) as well as a new layer called the Crater Diffusion Layer which helps maintain brightness. All Face ID sensors and front cameras will be embedded behind the scenes, removing bangs and camera holes for a completely clean view.

This bezelless design is said to have a symbolic meaning: being a pure visual beauty icon for Apple. But the technological challenges are quite large. Apple and its screen suppliers Samsung Display and LG Display must develop new techniques such as Thin Film Encapsulation to protect OLED panels and special adhesives that do not cause optical distortion when the screen is viewed from the side.

The iPhone shape adventure continues into 2028, when Apple is rumored to be rolling out a lighter and concise vertical fold version of the iPhone Flip. The model is expected to have a simple external screen to display AI-based notifications and shortcuts, similar to the concept of a clampshell phone.

Although YEux1122 has a slightly better reputation than other leakers about Apple rumors, its accuracy still deserves to be watched out for. This account is better known as a leak collector from various sources, not the main source.

If all these rumors are true, the next decade could be the boldest experimental period for Apple since the birth of the first iPhone to turn it from just a communication device to a folding technology canvas and without visual boundaries.
