Dragged In Corruption Cases Of Pasir Panjang Land, Regional Secretary And Head Of Singkawang Bapenda Deactivated

SINGKAWANG - The City Government (Pemkot) of Singkawang, West Kalimantan, has officially temporarily disabled two of its officials from the status of the state civil apparatus (ASN) after being named suspects in the alleged corruption case of land management of Pasir Panjang Land Management Rights (HPL), Sedau Village, South Singkawang District.

The two officials are the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Singkawang Sumastro and the Head of the Parlinggoman Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda).

"This temporary dismissal was carried out because the person concerned had been named a suspect in the alleged case of irregularities in the provision of relief from the levy of business services related to the use of the Pasir Panjang HPL," said Head of the Singkawang City Personnel and Human Resources Development Agency (BKPSDM) Sutiarno, Antara, Thursday, October 23.

He explained that during the temporary dismissal period, the two officials still received employment rights according to the provisions.

"For Sumastro, we still receive a salary of 75 percent, while Parlinggoman is 50 percent," he said.

Sutiarno added that their employment status would be adjusted to the results of the court's decision. If both are declared free, they can be reactivated after submitting an application to the local government.

Meanwhile, another official who was also caught in a similar case, Widato, the former Head of the Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency (BPKAD), had already submitted an early retirement before being named a suspect.

"Because he is no longer an ASN status, the temporary suspension does not apply to the person concerned," said Sutiarno.

The Singkawang City Government ensures that it will respect the ongoing legal process, while maintaining the sustainability of public services. Temporary implementing officials have been appointed so that the wheels of government continue to run effectively.

Previously, the Singkawang District Attorney's Office had named three suspects in the alleged corruption case of irregularities in the provision of relief from the levy of business services related to the use of Pasir Panjang HPL. The three are S (Sekda Singkawang), WT (Head of BPKAD), and PG (Head of Bapenda).

In the investigation, the Singkawang Kejari has examined 23 witnesses and three experts, consisting of state financial experts, criminal experts, and experts in calculating state losses. Based on the results of an audit by the West Kalimantan Province Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP), state losses due to the case reached Rp3.1 billion.
