Ministry Of Trade Speeds Up Revision Of Minya Kita Policy Completed This Year
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) is targeting the revision of the Regulation of the Minister of Trade (Permendag) Number 18 of 2024 concerning Packaged Palm Oil and People's Cooking Oil Governance to be completed this year.
"Yes (this year), the revision will be completed soon," said Director General of Domestic Trade (Dirjen PDN) of the Ministry of Trade Iqbal Shoffan Shofwan quoting Antara.
Iqbal said that the substance to be revised in Permendag 18/2024 is not only related to the highest retail price (HET), but also the distribution pattern.
He also said that the HET Minya Kita had not necessarily changed, because currently the discussion on the revision of Permen 18/2024 is still ongoing within the Ministry of Trade.
"It could be that the HET has changed, it might not. What is clear is that there will be a revision, because in the memindag it not only regulates HET, but also the distribution pattern," said Iqbal.
Iqbal targets discussions to be held with external parties no later than the next two weeks.
The Ministry of Trade will explain what has been compiled internally, then ask for responses and input from external parties.
"At least two weeks away or next week we will invite externally," he said.

Previously, in discussing changes to the Regulation of the Minister of Trade (Permendag) Number 18 of 2024 concerning Packaged Palm Oil and People's Cooking Oil Governance, the Minister of Trade (Mendag) Budi Santoso said that state-owned enterprises (BUMN) in the food sector would be tasked with distributing Oil.
In the old memandag, the distribution of Minya Kita is carried out by producers, distributions of 1 (D1), fistribution of 2 (D2) and retailers.
The distribution is considered too long, thus causing the price of Minya Kita to become more expensive when it reaches consumers.
In addition, Minya Kita will also be distributed through village/red and white village cooperatives (KDMP) so that consumers are easier to get access.
"Later, Bulog and ID FOOD will distribute them to red and white cooperatives. What is certain is that, basically the consumer, the people, can certainly get, buy Oilita at the price of HET," said Budi.
