OZORA Movie Raises True Story Of David Ozora And The Father's Struggle
JAKARTA - Umbara Brothers Film introduced the latest film with the title OZORA: Brutal Persecution of South Jakarta Rulers which will premiere in theaters on December 4.
Worked on by directors Anggy and Bounty Umbara, the film OZORA is taken from the true story of brutal abuse experienced by David Ozora (16) by the son of the South Jakarta Directorate General of Taxes.
The case, which occurred in February 2023, caught the attention of the wider public, because of the many irregularities during the law enforcement process, which made Jonathan (41), David's father, have to fight against the unequal legal system.
More than just a story of the struggle of a father who demands justice for his son, Anggy Umbara said the OZORA film is a social reflection of power, eliteism, and the courage of small people to face injustice.
This film highlights the phenomenon of people power measures', where people's power can be a light in the midst of dark systems that are not in favor.
"This film was born from personal unrest over the phenomenon of children who feel they are superior to others. OZORA is a mirror to remind us that bullying and power abuse should not be repeated in this country," said Anggy at a press conference in Kemang, South Jakarta on Wednesday, October 22.
This film not only tells the true story of violence and law, but about the love, prayer, and sincerity of a father. Through OZORA, the audience is invited to reflect that true power is born from a heart that does not give up and that justice for one person can mean hope for many people.

Chicco Jerikho, who plays Jonathan, admits that he is familiar with the story David experienced. He was also angry with what happened.
"Previously I followed the news, at the time of the incident, and I was one of the angry people. I was one of the people who reacted to the incident," said the actor.
Long before the film OZORA was complicated, Chicco admitted that he had tried to meet and finally became acquainted with Jonathan. As a father, he wanted to help support David's situation.
After meeting with Anggy Umbara, and being told that Jonathan and David's story will be filmed, Chicco is enthusiastic.
"In my opinion, this is something that needs to be told, so that there won't be another David-David in the future. What's more, what we all know is that bullying is getting more and more rampant," he said.
During the shooting process, Chicco mentioned the many worries he felt, considering that he knew the figures of Jonathan and David.
Not wanting to be wrong in conveying messages brought by the film OZORA, Chicco often even asked for advice from the figure he played, Jonathan.
"I asked in some of those important scenes, Bung Jo was there. From the reading process, Bung Jo was also there. Always I called and I contacted him. I want to know what was in Bung Jo's feelings, what was in his mind when it happened," he concluded.
