Central Jakarta District Court Holds First Trial Of Ammar Zoni Online From Nusakambangan

JAKARTA - The Central Jakarta District Court (PN) held the inaugural hearing of Ammar Zoni and his friends online because the defendants are currently in Nusakambangan Prison.

"This trial is open and open to the public," said Central Jakarta District Court Chief Judge Dwi Elyarahma Sulistiyowati in Jakarta, Thursday, October 23 when opening the inaugural trial with the agenda of the indictment.

It appears that a trial with an indictment agenda against Ammar Zoni and others is ongoing and the trial begins at 10.20 WIB.

The six defendants were not present in person in the courtroom, they attended the inaugural trial via zoom or online connection.

At this trial, there was only legal counsel from the defendant Ammar Zoni, while others were given legal assistance, because the criminal threat was more than 15 years.

"There is only legal counsel from defendant six (Ammar Zoni), for that we appoint legal counsel for other defendants," said the judge as quoted by ANTARA.

Previously, the Central Jakarta District Attorney (Kejari) stated that the narcotics trafficking case involving MAA alias AZ (Ammar Zoni) artist and five suspects entered phase two.

"We received the suspect and evidence on Wednesday (8/10)," said Acting Head of Intelligence at the Central Jakarta Kejari Agung Irwan in Jakarta, Thursday, October 9.

According to him, the narcotics trafficking case involving Ammar Zoni and five other suspects has entered stage two, namely the submission of evidence and suspects.

The case will later be transferred to the Central Jakarta District Court, to enter the next stage.

"There are six suspects including MAA alias AZ who were involved in narcotics trafficking in the Salemba Detention Center, Central Jakarta," he said.
