Riau Islands Police Fails To Smuggle Methamphetamine In The Stomach
The Riau Islands Police's Narcotics Directorate thwarted the smuggling of 100 grams of methamphetamine hidden in the stomach by airplane passengers at Hang Nadim Batam Airport.
Head of Sub-Directorate II of the Narcotics Directorate of the Riau Islands Police AKBP Ruslaeni said the perpetrator had the initials AL alias Dul.
"This is an old mode that is being carried out again by drug dealers, they smuggle drugs in their bodies," Ruslaeni said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, October 22.
The smuggling of 100 grams of crystal methamphetamine was successfully detected by officers on Friday (17/10) morning at the departure Terminal of A9 at Hang Nadim Batam Airport.
The perpetrator Dul is a resident of Sumbawa Regency, West Nusa Tenggara, suspected by officers for showing abnormal behavior.
Because of this suspicion, the officers then interrogated the perpetrator and admitted to keeping methamphetamine in his stomach.
"Officers then took the perpetrator to Bhayangkara Hospital for X-rays in radiology. The results showed that there were two capsules in his stomach," said Ruslaeni.
The two capsules containing 100 grams of methamphetamine were inserted through the anus.

Then, officers asked the perpetrators to remove the two capsules in the toilet of Bhayangkara Hospital.
According to the suspect's confession, this is the third time he has smuggled narcotics in his stomach.
"The suspect has become the target of operation (TO), and this is the first time he has been arrested," he said.
