Realization Of The B40 Capai 10.57 Million KL Program
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) reported that from January to September 2025, the realization of the bioenergy program in the form of a mixture of 40 percent of biodiesel from palm oil and 60 percent diesel (B40) has reached 10.57 million kiloliters (KL).
"This increase in realization is also accompanied by an increase in the added value of Crude Palm Oil to IDR 14.7 trillion," said ESDM Minister Bahlil Lahadalia in a statement to the media, Wednesday, October 22.
Bahlil said this program managed to save foreign exchange up to Rp93.43 trillion. Not only that, but the mandatory program is also able to absorb more than 1.3 million workers and reduce carbon emissions to 28 million tons.
'A palm oil farmer is a new energy hero. This energy transition program opens new jobs while preserving the earth. From people's oil palm plantations to motorized vehicle tanks, the value chain of biodiesel has become proof that Indonesia is able to create an energy ecosystem that is independent, sustainable, and just," explained Bahlil.
According to him, with this program, Indonesia is working on a new direction in its energy management policy. The high dependence on fossil energy whose prices continue to soar makes the country's foreign exchange even more depressed.
"In recent times, the policy of EBT projects such as bioenergy, the construction of EBT-based power plants has continued to show a significant increase in progress," Bahlil explained.
Previously, Bahlil revealed that he would stop imports of diesel starting in the second semester of 2026. This is in line with the government's plan to implement the use of 50 percent biodiesel (B50).

"Yesterday we confirmed, at the direction of the President, it has been leveled, it has been decided that in 2026, God willing, we will push it to B50. Thus, we will no longer import diesel fuel into Indonesia," said Bahlil sat as a speaker at the Investor Daily Summit, Thursday, October 9.
The chairman of the Golkar Party said that the fuel mixing program with biodiesel had been carried out previously with the mixing of B10, B20 B30, B40.
According to him, B50, which is a mixture of diesel with CPO and methanol, can increase the selling value of palm oil farmers.
In addition, this program can also reduce Indonesia's dependence on diesel imports so that it can maintain the country's foreign exchange
