PDIP Says Genocide In Gaza Will Never Happen If Bung Karno Is Still Alive
The Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto assessed that the genocide incident in Gaza, Palestine, would never have happened if the first President of the Republic of Indonesia Soekarno was still alive.
Hasto also revealed how Bung Karno played in supporting Palestinian independence, including other Islamic countries experiencing colonialism.
This was conveyed by Hasto during the commemoration of National Santri Day at the PDIP DPP Party School, Lenteng Agung, South Jakarta on Wednesday, October 22.
"If Bung Karno was still alive, an event like Gaza would never happen," said Hasto.
Hasto then told about efforts to help Palestinians escape from Israeli colonialism. One of them is by persuading the President of the United States (US) at that time, John F. Kennedy.
"He persuaded US President John F Kennedy that we can only free Palestine if we have a nuclear," he said.
"Soekarno then sent scientists to the United States. However, after Kennedy was killed, the plan was a mess. The hundred scientists were then sent to China," continued Hasto.
Hasto also emphasized the PDIP's commitment to supporting independent Palestine. He said, the commitment had existed since the Bung Karno administration.

"When it comes to elections, when Israel wants to come, we convey this ideological and historical attitude. Because it has been our commitment since the Bung Karno era to support the Palestinian government. Logically, we have been assisted by them in defending sovereignty, why don't we help there? That's our historical political contract," said Hasto.
"Then why did we then reject the arrival of Israel? Some said, 'Wow, linking football with politics'. Yes, what politics is life, said Mrs. Mega," he concluded.
