Cockcap Filled With Methamphetamine Failed To Be Smuggled By Visitors To Narcotics Prison
JAKARTA - Class IIA Narcotics Correctional Institution (Lapas) officers thwarted the fifth attempt to smuggle methamphetamine throughout 2025. The goods were put in soy sauce chicken dishes brought by visitors.
"This is clear evidence that we will not be careless. Every smuggling attempt, no matter how small, will be taken firm action. The Jakarta Narcotics Prison is committed to creating an environment free from drugs and prohibited goods," said Head of the Jakarta Narcotics Prison Syarpani in a written statement, Wednesday, October 22.
The incident began when officers searched the goods and suspected a package of food in the form of soy sauce chicken brought by visitors to a resident. In pieces of chicken, 10 small packages containing white powder were found.

Evidence and visitors have been handed over to the East Jakarta Metro Police Narcotics Unit. Further investigations and legal proceedings will be carried out.
This success, continued Syarpani, is a form of commitment from the Jakarta Narcotics Prison in fighting totally against drugs.
