The Toxic Fighter Film Review: Peter Dinklage Goes Crazy Because Of Heroes

JAKARTA - The Toxic Fighter film finally opens in theaters after two years of delay. Played by Peter Dinklage, this film has been announced and aired at the festival in 2023 but has only received a broadcast schedule this year.

This film is also a reboot of the Toxic Fighter franchise which hit in the 80s and remake from 1984. This film makes Peter Dinklage the main character.

The Toxic Fighter tells of Winston Gooze (Peter Dinklage) an office boy who experiences conflict with his stepson after his wife died. His son, Wade (Jacob Tremblay) also underestimated Winston who never helped their neighbors who were threatened by local thugs.

Winston works at a BTH pharmaceutical company that turns out to keep a myriad of problems. One day, Winston gets a notification that he is diagnosed with a tumor in the brain and needs medication.

Then, Winston went to a charity party held by BTH leader Bob (Kevinmen) and asked directly. Instead, he was expelled from the event and forced his way into BTH, making weapons from a broom.

Suddenly, Winston experienced a strange condition that made his body turn into a mutant. He was also confused after a group called The Killer Nutz tried to attack him, but he was able to deal with it.

The Toxic Fighter features something fun but remains relevant to the humanitarian situation, where there are cities based on visuals. Our heroes who are the main characters here are not perfect figures, something that can be found in other superhero films.

However, that is precisely the uniqueness of this film directed by Macon Blair. This strangeness side makes this film even more interesting.

Many scenes using practical effects combined with CGI. Winston's transition from human beings to heroes is also not something that is great but is actually close to his plot.

Legally, this film shows how the handover of those in power has never brought them to anything better. Even though this film has a strange outward appearance, the story has a basis that is close to the audience.

Meanwhile, the film The Toxic Fighter can be seen in Indonesian cinemas starting Wednesday, October 22.
