Supported By People's Wells, Bahlil Targets 2026 Production Of 610.000 BOPD

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) targets oil lifting in 2026 at 610.000 barrels of oil per day (BOPD). The increase in the lifting target is based on the realization of the average oil production from January to September 2025 which was recorded at 604.700 bopd.

This figure has increased by 4.79 percent from the previous year which was recorded at 577.08 MBOPD. This target will be increased to 610 thousand barrels per day in 2026.

"This achievement will continue to grow when the government revives productivity of more than 4,400 wells that have been suspended by suri, returning them to economic lifeblood," said Bahlil, Wednesday, October 22.

According to him, the policy of managing people's wells can be a new ammunition in increasing national oil production.

Through the Regulation of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Number 14 of 2025, he continued, the public can work safely and be monitored without having to worry about legal issues.

"Policy breakthroughs that not only increase national oil and gas production, but also open up job opportunities and economic equity for all levels of society," Bahlil continued.

Bahlil assessed that this policy is one of the important milestones in realizing the constitutional mandate so that natural resources are managed as much as possible for the prosperity of the people.

He also emphasized that this policy is not just a technical step, but a tangible manifestation of the spirit of Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution, where the people are part of the national energy production process.

"The state opens space for the people to become part of the national energy production chain. Oil and gas is no longer carried out by just large capital owners," he said.

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources noted that the results of the inventory consolidation show that there are more than 45,000 people's wells that are ready to be managed legally and productively. The additional production potential of this step is estimated at around 10,000 barrels per day, as well as creating 225,000 new jobs in various regions.

Bahlil assessed that this breakthrough is proof that self-sufficiency in energy does not have to depend on large corporations, but can grow from the well-organized participation of the people.

This step also strengthens the direction of national energy development which is more just and inclusive.

"History notes, there is no progress of the nation without sovereignty over energy," said Bahlil.
