Ahead Of National Santri Day, Gibran Welcomes 240 Santri At The Vice Presidential Palace
JAKARTA - Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka invited hundreds of students from eight Islamic boarding schools in Jakarta to make educational visits within the Vice President's Palace, National Museum and National Monument (Monas), ahead of National Santri Day.

The Head of the Secretariat of Vice President Al Muktabar explained that as many as 240 students participated in an event entitled 'Santri Visit to the Vice President's Palace, National Museum, and National Monument' which was held at the Vice President's Palace, Jakarta, Tuesday, to grow the pride and spirit of nationality among the younger generation.
"Mr. Vice President Gibran Rakabuming is very concerned about the world of education, especially education for the younger generation and students. During various visits to the regions, he always took the time to stay in touch with pesantren," said Al Muktabar, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, October 22.
Ahead of the Commemoration of National Santri Day which falls every October 22, the Vice President believes that the students are future leaders of Indonesia.
The 240 students from Asshiddiqiyah Islamic Boarding School, Al Wathoniyah, Tahfidzul Qur'an Sirrul Asror, Luhur At-Tsaqafah, Azzyadah, Miftahul Ulum, Al Hamid, and Sultan Fatah were received at the Vice Presidential Palace.
After being accepted at the Vice President's Palace and listening to his remarks, the students were presented with a video screening of the history of the travel of the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia from time to time, from Bung Hatta to Gibran Rakabuming.
The broadcast of this video aims to introduce the students to the important role of the Vice President in the nation's journey, as well as foster a sense of pride and inspiration so that they can emulate the spirit of service of the previous leaders in developing Indonesia.
The event continued with a tour of getting to know the Palace environment as well as an educational visit to the National Museum and National Monument (Monas).
After walking around, the students returned to the Palace for lunch together, then took a photo with Vice President Gibran who greeted and interacted directly with the participants.
One of the participant students, Muhammad Al-Fathan from the Tahfidzul Qur'an Sirrul Asror Islamic Boarding School, admitted that he was touched and proud to be able to visit the Vice President's Palace and see firsthand the symbols of the nation's history. He also felt nervous and happy when shaking hands and spoke directly with Vice President Gibran.
