Apart From The US Vice President, The Chief Of Egyptian Intelligence Came To Israel To Discuss The Gaza Armistice

JAKARTA - Egypt's Intelligence Chief Hassan Rashad arrived in Israel on Tuesday to hold talks of a Gaza ceasefire with Israeli officials.

Israel's public broadcast station, KAN, said Rashed met with Israeli chief authority Benjamin Netanyahu to discuss implementing a ceasefire agreement.

Meanwhile, the Egyptian government-run news agency Al-Qahera said Rashad's talks in Israel would also discuss the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza.

Reported by ANTARA from Anadolu, Tuesday, October 21, the Egyptian intelligence chief will also meet with the US Special Envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff during the visit.

The visit was the first visit of a senior Egyptian official to Israel since the Tel Aviv genocide war in Gaza in October 2023.

The ceasefire deal came into effect on October 10 in Gaza, based on a gradual plan delivered by US President Donald Trump. The first phase includes the release of Israeli hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners.

The plan also includes the rebuilding of Gaza and the establishment of a new government mechanism without Hamas.

Since October 2023, Israel's genocide war has killed more than 68,200 people and injured more than 170,300 people, according to Gaza's Ministry of Health.
