Celine Evangelista Asks Religious Experts Before Playing 'Danyang Wingit'
JAKARTA - Celine Evangelista introduces her latest film, Danyang Wingit, directed by Agus Riyanto. This film is his latest acting project after a long time.
In this film he plays Citra, a new sinden who joins a padepokan. Through his first trailer, Citra faced various oddities while starting his work.
"We don't want to scare but respect culture and stories themselves from cultural stories and syndicates about families. Many are related to life," said Celine Evangelista at a press conference in South Jakarta on Tuesday, October 21.
Production of this film was carried out before Celine moved and wore a hijrah, but she did not object if her acting was seen in this film.
"I rarely take pictures but this was before the hijrah. Before moving, I had a spiritual experience in Java and was interested," explained Celine.

"I moved, no one knew. At that time, I thought what kind of work he did and Alhamdulillah what he wanted to do, I asked religious experts and this was part of his responsibility and had to finish it," continued Celine Evangelista.
Director Agus Riyanto also added, "In my opinion, it fits because here we have a weton that we are investigating. When we were just looking for ideas and the creative process, I was like a crazy person."
Apart from Celine, this film also stars Fajar Nugra, Nathalie Holscher, Djenar Maesa Ayu, Whani Darmawan and others.
Danyang Wingit: Friday Kliwon will hit Indonesian cinemas starting November 20, 2025.
