Not In Kaltara, Ministry Of Home Affairs Data Affirms Funds Depositing IDR 4.7 Trillion Belonging To The East Kalimantan Provincial Government
TANJUNG SELOR The Provincial Government of North Kalimantan (Kaltara) firmly dismissed reports that said this area had funds deposited in banks reaching Rp4.7 trillion.
The clarification was delivered directly by the Head of the Regional Finance and Assets Agency (BKAD) of Kaltara, Denny Harianto, who confirmed that the data was wrong and did not match the facts on the ground.
According to Denny, the Rp4.7 trillion figure circulating in the news came from a data misidentification. He emphasized that the data in question does not belong to Kaltara, but belongs to the Province of East Kalimantan (Kaltim).
"After we confirmed directly with the Ministry of Home Affairs, it turned out that the data was wrong. The Rp4.7 trillion fund was not from Kaltara, but from East Kalimantan," said Denny, Tuesday, October 21.
He explained that the Kaltara Provincial Government through the Governor had sent an official clarification letter to the central government following the statement of the Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadive who previously mentioned Kaltara was included in the list of provinces with high deposit funds at the bank.
"We have sent a clarification letter today. We have also had a virtual meeting with the Ministry of Home Affairs, and the results are clear: there is a data error," he said.
Denny gave an example, in the official audit report of the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK), the remaining more Budget Financing (SiLPA) of the North Kalimantan Provincial Government in 2024 was only IDR 17 billion, far from the figure of IDR 130 billion which was mentioned in the interim report.
"That alone has shown the difference. So it is impossible for us to suddenly have funds deposited IDR 4.7 trillion," he said.
Denny also explained, based on data on the realization of Transfers to Regions (TKD) in 2025, the Kaltara Provincial Government only received Rp1.7 trillion. With that amount, according to him, it does not make sense if the area is accused of storing Rp4.7 trillion in funds.
"The logic is not connected. Our TKD alone is IDR 1.7 trillion, how can there be funds deposited IDR 4.7 trillion. Therefore, we immediately sent a written clarification," said Denny.
Denny explained that the total placement of deposits from the North Kalimantan Provincial Government was only around Rp. 300 billion spread across four regional banks. The placement of deposits was also carried out as a strategy to optimize regional cash to increase Regional Original Revenue (PAD).
"I have confirmed to all the banks where we put deposits. They are also confused about where the data from. Moreover, this is already in the fourth quarter, and all funds have been running for routine shopping," he said.
However, Denny joked, if it is true that the Kaltara Provincial Government has funds of IDR 4.7 trillion, it will certainly be good news for regions that are aggressively accelerating development.
"If there really is such a large fund, of course we will be very grateful. But the facts are not there. So we still convey real data, which can be accounted for," he said.
Denny ensured that all Kaltara Provincial Government financial data was submitted in accordance with regulations and based on the Minister of Finance Regulation (PMK) Number 29 of 2025 concerning Transfer Funds to Regions.
"That's right, our TKD funds this year are IDR 1.7 trillion, and that has a legal basis for PMK. We have sent clarification to the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Home Affairs, and the Regional Office of DJPb Kaltara," he concluded.
