Coordinating Minister Zulhas Calls Target 82.9 Million MBG Recipients Realized March 2026
Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan said that the target of 82.9 million recipients of the Free Nutrition Food (MBG) program could only be implemented until March 2026. Currently, MBG recipients have only reached 36 million people.
Previously, the government had targeted the number of recipients of the MBG program to reach this figure by the end of this year. This means that the target is reversed from the initial plan.
"It is estimated that in 2026, March, we can reach 82.9 million," he said at the Ministry of Food's One Year Town Hall Meeting, Jakarta, Tuesday, October 21.
Zulhas, as he is familiarly called, said that the target could be achieved after the Presidential Regulation (Perpres) on the MBG Program Governance Tapa was issued in the near future.
"Today we will complete the governance, which will be led by Sesneg later, and Seskab so that governance also makes improvements," he said.
He said the government also continues to make improvements and evaluations of MBG governance. He ensured that no more child would become a victim of negligence in providing MBG.
"Everything in the hope that no one will risk it. God willing, please pray for me," he explained.
Zulhas also admitted that he had received an assignment to become team leader in coordinating between agencies, the central and regional governments. He also ensured that supervision of the implementation of the MBG would be carried out more strictly.

"Supervision will certainly reach the village later, it will be at the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Home Affairs, there are governors, regents, have mayors, sub-district heads, to villages. That's supervision, so that later the puskesmas, the health office can routinely carry out evaluations led directly later with the daily executor, Mrs. Nanik (Deputy Head of BGN)," he explained.
Separately, Deputy Head of BGN Nanik S. Deyang said the target recipient of 82.9 million people needed a budget of around Rp. 351 trillion to Rp. 400 trillion. Meanwhile, currently, the budget received by BGN for 2025 is Rp. 71 trillion.
"From the start, the target was only Rp. 71 trillion. Whereas if it was 82.9, it was worth around Rp. 351 (trillion) to Rp. 400 trillion. This means that it is not a target of 82.9, our target is Rp. 71 trillion," said Nanik.
