Becoming, Film Dokumenter Netflix Tentang Michelle Obama
JAKARTA - Michelle Obama is the newest public figure to have her own documentary film. Under Netflix production, this documentary titled Becoming is adapted from a book of the same name written by Michelle and released in 2018. Netflix released Becoming's first look on Tuesday, April 28, without announcement.
This documentary will follow former first lady Michelle Obama's journey through 34 cities on a tour she undertakes in 2019. At this meeting, the wife of former President of the United States (US) Barack Obama tells of her life following her husband's journey to the White House. The woman who was born on January 17 also told the side behind being a president's wife.
In the first trailer released Tuesday, April 28, Becoming featured Michelle's show with the women's community. One of the moments featured a woman asking how Michelle transformed from the president's wife to a normal life. Michelle replied; "What I learned is back on which track? This is a new track. It's not coming back, it's just different, and it's different forever. "
He also explained that he had the same thoughts as other women. "What do I want to do?" Michelle continues to ponder the question and is still learning to process her life. After releasing the first look, Michelle uploaded this information through her social media and wrote; "In a difficult situation like this, I hope you will find inspiration and pleasure in this film."

Not much information can be extracted from the almost two-minute video. But certainly, the Becoming documentary will synchronize the contents of the book with visual aids.
Becoming is directed by Nadia Hallgren who has directed documentaries such as Trapped and The New Black. Meanwhile, for the production side held by Katy Chevigny, Marilyn Ness, and Lauren Cioffi.
The documentary will be produced by Netflix and Higher Ground Productions, the production house of Barack and Michelle. Previously, this production house produced a documentary American Factory which won the Best Documentary award at the 2020 Oscars.
Becoming will be the first to show the life of Michelle Obama and will air exclusively on May 6.
