Meta AI App Users Increase Drastically, Exceed ChatGPT And Grok

JAKARTA The number of users of the Meta AI mobile application, a chatbot made by Meta, has increased significantly. In recent weeks, the number has jumped dramatically to millions.

According to a recent analysis of the market intelligence company Similar web, according to TechCrunch, the global number of active users (DAU) of the Meta AI application reached 2.7 million as of October 17. This figure is up from the previous only 775,000 users.

In addition to the daily surge in users, the number of installations of the Meta AI application has also experienced growth. The application managed to record 300,000 new downloads per day, an increase from the previous one of less than 200,000 downloads per day.

Although it seems slow, this is a significant improvement for the platform. The reason is, a year ago at the same time, Meta AI only had 4,000 daily downloads. This shows an increase in the chatbot.

This increase is thought to be related to the launch of the Vibes feed last September. The feed introduces a short video creation feature generated by Artificial Intelligence (AI), similar to Veo 3, but directly from the app.

Compared to its competitors, Meta AI is showing a much better performance. As of October 17, the Meta AI application experienced a 15.58 percent increase in DAU globally.

Meanwhile, other AI chatbot applications actually experienced a decline in the same period. ChatGPT, Grok, and Perplexity reportedly experienced a decrease in DAU by 3.51 percent, 7.35 percent, and 2.29 percent, respectively.
