Bahlil Lahadalia Reveals Possible 10 Percent Etanol Mandatory At Fuel In 2027

JAKARTA - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia revealed that the possibility of implementing 10 percent of the mandatory ethanol in fuel will be enforced in 2027.

This is in view of the readiness of ethanol factories and the availability of raw materials, namely cassava and sugar cane. This was conveyed by Bahlil after attending the Plenary Cabinet Meeting which took place at the State Palace, Jakarta, Monday, October 20.

However, according to Bahlil, it is possible that the mandatory implementation of 10 percent ethanol in fuel will begin in 2028.

Bahlil Lahadalia emphasized that the mandatory 10 percent in fuel will reduce oil imports and drive industries in Indonesia because ethanol factories must be in Indonesia.
