Dark House, Open Door: Man In Palupi Palu Found Dead With Wounds In Slipis And Eyes
PALU - Palu City Police (Polresta), Central Sulawesi, is investigating the death of a man named Afif Silaraja (52) who was found dead at his home in Palupi Village, Tatanga District, on Sunday night.
Palu Police Chief Kombes Deny Abrahams said his party had dispatched an Inafis team to conduct a crime scene (TKP) and initial examination of the victim's body.
"We urge the public to remain calm and not speculate. The Palu Police together with the Inafis team will work professionally and openly to determine the cause of death of the victim," Deny said in Palu as quoted by Antara, Monday, October 20.
According to the results of the initial examination, there were wounds on the victim's face indicating allegations of violence. However, the exact cause of death will only be known after the results of the medical examination come out.
The police have also coordinated with the Central Sulawesi Regional Police, after the victim's family made an official report regarding the alleged abuse.
"We will uncover this case quickly and transparently in order to provide justice for the victim's family and maintain the peace of society," said Deny.
The victim was first discovered by his younger brother, SS (51), who came with his wife, AM (48), at around 19.15 WITA. When he arrived, the house was dark because the electricity went out and the door opened.
When he entered the living room, the witness saw the victim face down on the floor. After being turned back, the victim was found dead," said South Palu Police Chief AKP Muhammad Kasim.
Police officers who came to the location immediately put up a police line, secured the area, and collected information from a number of witnesses around the scene.
Meanwhile, Afif Silaraja's extended family asked for serious and transparent treatment from the police. They considered Afif's death odd because a number of wounds were found on the victim's body.
According to family information, there were lacerations of about 10 cm on the right temple and severe bruises on the right eye.

The relative of the deceased and the reporter, Nurmin Abdul Rifai, said that the family had made an official report to the Central Sulawesi Regional Police and requested that the autopsy process be carried out openly and professionally.
