Hasto Kristiyanto: PDIP Cadres Must Stand On The Frontline To Protect The Environment

TANJUNG SELOR - Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDI-P) Hasto Kristiyanto emphasized the importance of every party cadre to strengthen ideological identity as well as to be at the forefront of maintaining Indonesia's environment and natural wealth.

Hal tersebut disampaikan Hasto dalam Konferda Daerah (Konferda) PDI Perjuangan Kalimantan Utara yang digelar pada Minggu, 19 Oktober. Kalimantan Utara menjadi provinsi kedua setelah Bali yang mendapat kehormatan penyelenggaraan langsung dari DPP partai.

According to Hasto, PDI-P General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri advised all cadres to stick to the spirit of struggle, not get involved in the comfort zone, and continue to open up to the aspirations of the people.

Mrs. Mega emphasized the importance of protecting the community. Deforestation has occurred in many places, and PDI-P cadres must stand on the front lines to protect our forests, rivers and seas," said Hasto.

He added that the party also encourages changes in the paradigm of national development to be more environmentally friendly, including a transportation system that is oriented towards public interests and nature sustainability.

"In the future, we must build a mass transportation system that serves the public interest and is oriented towards environmental sustainability," he said.

Hasto emphasized that environmental issues are no longer the responsibility of activists alone, but must be a joint movement for all cadres at the grassroots.

"Caring for citizens is not just a slogan, but an ideological call from the PDI-P. We must be present with the people in protecting the archipelago," he said.

The PDI-P Conference of North Kalimantan is also a momentum for the consolidation of organizations at the regional level as well as strengthening ideology, mutual cooperation culture, and the social responsibility of parties in areas called Hasto has a geopolitical and ecological strategic position.
