Gas Smelling Water Sprinkles In Surabaya, PGN Deploys Emergency Response Team

JAKARTA - PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN) is following up quickly on public reports regarding the emergence of gas-based water bursts in the Central Rungkut River area, Surabaya.

General Manager Sales and Operation Region III of the State Gas Company (PGN) Hedi Hedianto stated that his party was coordinating with relevant agencies and deploying an emergency response team.

"We sent a team to ensure that conditions in the field were safe and identify the position of the pipe around the location of the burst," he said in Surabaya, Sunday, which was confiscated by Antara.

As a security measure for the community and network assets, PGN closed the gas flow on Friday 17 October at 17.00 and since then the burst has stopped completely.

After identification, Hedi continued, PGN immediately analyzed and closed the leaking gas pipe and the flow of gas that crossed through the pipe was closed.

He said PGN immediately reconditioned the leaking gas pipeline to ensure that there were no more bursts and gas leaks were detected.

Not only that, Hedi said the PGN team was still monitoring and continuing the investigation of the cause of the water burst.

This is because until now the main cause of the leak is still uncertain so the team is still conducting a comprehensive investigation in the field.

PGN also ensures that natural gas services to customers continue to run normally and do not experience disturbances.

Further information will be submitted regularly if there are developments in the results of the investigation.
