BYD Reaches New Historical Milestone In Thailand, Successfully Sends 100,000 Cars

JAKARTA - A Chinese manufacturer, BYD, reached a milestone in Southeast Asia more precisely in Thailand, reaching shipments of 100,000 units.

Vehicles to 100,000 delivered by companies in Thailand are the 6 DM-i (sport utility vehicle) hybrid SUV, one of the four models produced at the BYD plant in Thailand.

Thailand telah menjadi pasar pertama BYD di wilayah Asia Pacific yang melampaui 100.000 pengiriman kendaraan, cuitan BYD di laman media sosial X, dikutip CNevpost, Minggu, 19 Oktober.

The notch only arrived about three months after BYD delivered its 990,000 vehicles in Thailand. On July 8, BYD announced the delivery of vehicles to 90,000 in Thailand, as local factories marked its first anniversary of its operations.

As is known, BYD officially entered the Thai market in 2022, initially selling vehicles in Southeast Asian countries through imports.

Then, on March 10, 2023 BYD started the construction of a Thai factory in the WHA Rayong 36 Industrial Estate which covers nearly 960,000 square meters.

On July 4, 2024, the facility began production, launched the first Thai-made BYD vehicle and also marked the global 8 million BYD vehicles.

BYD's achievements in Thailand could be achieved in Indonesia. The reason is, this brand from China continues to penetrate the market by not only presenting a network of dealers, but also launching new products.

At the GIIAS 2025 event, BYD officially launched the cheapest electric car, namely Atto 1 which is priced at IDR 195 million. Not only that, there are also several more models that will be presented in Indonesia

In fact, BYD's sales data is also relatively good. Referring to Gaikindo data, BYD still dominates the national electric car market with sales of 20,077 units in January-September 2025.
