Marriage Electronics And Blues, DJ Stroo And Gugun GBS Present Collaboration At Single Spaceman

JAKARTA - DJ Stroo has an interesting collaboration that breaks the boundary wall of the music genre. Through a single titled Spaceman released under the AFE RECORDS label, he collaborated with one of the top blues guitarists, Gugun GBS (Gugun Blues Shelter).

Although the lyrics talk about the adventures of a human being in space, DJ Stroo revealed that the idea of this song was born from his desire to make a joke.

"This is the story of a person who is wooing his partner, with corners and positioning himself as a space explorer (Spaceman), who will take his lover to have fun on various planets in space", DJ Stroo said in a written statement, October 18.

The collaboration between DJ Stroo and Gugun began with a casual chat when the two were on the backstage of a music event. Incidentally, DJ Stroo has material from a lyric that has not been worked on. Then the two agreed to work on this work.

They then held a workshop and continued with vocal recording and Gugun guitar at Afe studio. Gugun himself sees this project as something that challenges him musically.

"When it was offered this song material it became a challenge for me, especially since I was asked by DJ Stroo not only to sing but at the same time fill in the guitar lead. From the existing electronic music material, I filled it with a combination of blues-rock characters. It was a new pleasant experience for me," said Gugun.

Spaceman comes with a beat character from electronic music, co-starring with blues and Rock n Roll nuances, with a soul feel, to acid disco. With courty lyrics, this song also features the comfort of the energetic guitar and the vocal character of the soulful Gugun.

Even though it appears to use electronic beat with a modern feel, this song uses a lot of vintage analog sound that becomes the atmosphere. You can see the choice of sound guitar to the sound keyboard analog with the 70s.

This song follows the release of the single project for the EDM trio formed by DJ Stroo named Sun of Monday last March, which is also under the same label. Spaceman is available on all digital music platforms starting October 17, 2025. The release of this single is also accompanied by the release of the lyric video on the same date.
