Anthropic Claude Now Can Access Documents, Email, And Microsoft Teams

JAKARTA Anthropic has officially integrated AI assistant Claude into Microsoft 365 services. Thanks to this integration, Claude can now access Word, Teams, and Outlook in conversations.

This integration is part of an update designed to make Claude more beneficial to the work environment. With this new capability, Claude can act as a much more in-depth contextual assistant.

Claude can now connect with Microsoft SharePoint and OneDrive to find and analyze company documents. This connection is done without the need to upload documents manually one by one so that it is very efficient.

Meanwhile, integration with Microsoft Outlook made Claude access a series of user emails to analyze the conversation in it. As a result, chatbots can display a very relevant and in-depth context in each of their answers.

In addition, Claude can also explore chat conversations and chat history in Microsoft Teams. This ability includes access to channel discussions and meeting summarys so that users can get information quickly from team collaboration.

Anthropic also launched the Company Search feature in Claude to complement this capability. This new feature makes it easier for AI assistants to search for data in various internal company sources spread across various applications and services.

This integration is made possible through the Context Protocol (MCP) Model, an Anthropic open source standard for connecting AI applications to other data sources and applications. Microsoft has adopted the MCP and plans to use it widely as Windows re-branding becomes an AI PC.
