Google's Nano Banana Model Coming To Google Messages

JAKARTA Nano Banana, the popular image-making model from Gemini 2.5 Flash Image, seems to be being integrated into other apps. Google Messages is expected to get the feature.

This is known after the Android Authority discovered the code in the latest beta version. This hidden code was found in Google Messages with version 20251009_00_RC00. Once modified, they managed to generate a banana icon.

A familiar banana icon will appear in a row of options at the top of the chat. The icon can only be called after the user presses the image length in the chat room.

This feature works both in one-on-one and group chats. The icon will be hidden from the screen display during normal use and will only appear when the user interacts with an image.

Unfortunately, tapping the icon has not yet brought out a clear effect or function. Therefore, the details of the workflow to create or edit images using the Nano Banana model on Google Messages have yet to be revealed.

Chances are, users will be asked to explain edited results or create new images with the help of a prompt box. This will be similar to how Gemini's model works in other features.

Given that several Gemini features are available for free on Google Messages, this Nano Banana integration is expected to be widely available at launch. There is a possibility that users with paid packages can enjoy more image editing limits.

Integration of Nano Banana in Google Messages is still in its early stages of development and cannot be expected to be present in the near future. However, this discovery provides a clear picture of Google's direction in expanding its image creation.
