President Prabowo Praises Head Of BGN For Returning MBG Budget Of IDR 70 Trillion
BANDUNG - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto praised the steps taken by the Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Dadan Hindayana to return the budget of IDR 70 trillion from the Free Nutrition Food (MBG) program because it was not fully absorbed.
The President called this action a form of responsibility and integrity that should be used as an example by other state officials.
"But he has a responsibility for the Indonesian nation and state. He returned it to me. Thank you, I was surprised," Prabowo said in a scientific oration during the National University of the Republic of Indonesia (UKRI) Graduation in Bandung, Saturday.

Prabowo said the government provided an additional budget of IDR 100 trillion to BGN for the implementation of the MBG program in early 2025. The budget comes from the results of the efficiency carried out by the government to ministries/agencies.
"And I add 100 trillion from Rp71 trillion (APBN ceiling for BGN), I add Rp100 trillion," he said.
However, he said, it was not easy to build 30,000 MBG kitchens within one year.
Prabowo said Dadan felt that BGN did not need to use all the allocated budgets, so they were returned to the state for IDR 70 trillion.
According to him, it is very rare for state officials to return the budget that has been allocated for ministries/agencies to the President.
"So he returned Rp70 trillion. I think this in the history of the Republic of Indonesia has never happened," he said.
He said officials usually look for activities or projects to spend the ministry's budget.
"Usually starting in November, officials spend money, looking for activities for the budget to be spent," he said.
The President said that later the returned budget would be used to help people in need.
"So that we can use this Rp70 trillion to help people who are difficult, help villages, help fishermen, help all those who need it. And we need to respect this as an act of a patriot. Rp70 trillion is 4 billion dollars, rarely in my opinion, "said Prabowo.
