Prabowo: Of The 1.4 Billion Portions, MBG Successful 99.99% Without Poisoning

JAKARTA - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto stated that the Free Nutrition Food (MBG) program was running very high, although in the field there were still some technical problems that led to cases of food poisoning.

Prabowo made this statement at the 521 Graduation Senate Open Session at the National University of the Republic of Indonesia (UKRI) at the Trans Convention Center, Bandung City, West Java, Saturday.

"1.4 billion servings have been distributed, of which 8,000 have been poisoned. So, if statistics are taken, it is 0.00.7 or 0.0008, meaning that this program is 99.99% successful," he said.

President Prabowo highlighted that there are some people who often criticize or mock the implementation of the flagship program.

He considered that the criticism that arose was often disproportionate because it highlighted less cases than the great benefits that had been felt by the wider community.

"Until now, there have been several thousand children who have stomach pain, eating poisoning, but those who have been raised are poisoning, as if this program had to be stopped," he said.

The President said that up to now as many as 36.2 million beneficiaries have enjoyed the MBG program, with a total distribution of around 1.4 billion servings of food throughout Indonesia.

President Prabowo reiterated his commitment to continue to perfect the MBG program so that it is safer and more beneficial for the younger generation, especially school children in all corners of the country.
