Trump: US Intends Not To Send Tomahawk To Ukraine

JAKARTA - US President Donald Trump told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy Washington had no intention of sending Tomahawk missiles to Kyiv.

According to Axios, after the meeting Zelenskyy was "incoherent" about Tomahawk, but Trump refused and "remained on his stance", Trump said he had no plans to give the Tomahawk to Ukraine, at least for now.

One source said Friday's meeting was "not easy" and "Trump being tough."

Another source said the meeting was going bad and Trump gave some strong statements during the meeting to Zelenskyy and at some point things got a little emotional.

In a post on Truth Social following a meeting with Zelenskyy on Friday, Trump said Russia and Ukraine should stop fighting in the current position, both of them can claim victory and leave a decisive history.

Trump also said he did not know whether the possibility of delivering the Tomahawk missile to Ukraine prompted Russian President Vladimir Putin to hold new negotiations, but stressed Putin appeared to be focused on reaching a peace agreement.

Earlier on Thursday, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Trump made phone calls and agreed to meet in Budapest.

Trump was the first to propose Budapest as a potential location for Russia-US summit and Putin supported the idea, according to Russian president Yury Ushakov's aide.
