BNN Raids Methamphetamine Factory In Cisauk Apartment, 2 People Become Suspects

JAKARTA - Two people were arrested by the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) of the Republic of Indonesia when they raided a methamphetamine factory in an apartment unit in the Cisauk area, Tangerang, since Friday, October 17, 2025. They have the initials IM and DF.

"IM acts as a chef or designer and DF acts as the party that markets production," said Head of BNN RI, Komjen Suyudi Ario Seto, quoted from a written statement, Saturday, October 18, 2025.

Suyudi explained that the two were recidivist in a similar case. They were caught after a joint team from the Indonesian National Narcotics Agency together with the Directorate General of Customs and Excise conducted operations since Friday, October 17, 2025, at 15.24 WIB, at one of the apartment units on the 20th floor.

"Based on the results of surveillance and in-depth observations that an apartment unit is used as a place to produce methamphetamine," he said.

Suyudi said, the factory produced methamphetamine by extracting drugs for asthma. All chemicals and laboratory equipment are known to be purchased online.

The 15 thousand pills of asthma can produce 1 kilogram of pure Ephedrine.

"The two perpetrators claimed to have made a profit of around Rp. 1 billion over the past six months," he said.

Furthermore, BNN secured methamphetamine in liquid and solid form, various chemicals used in the process of making methamphetamine, to laboratory equipment used to produce narcotics.

As a result of their actions, the suspects were charged with Article 114 Paragraph (2) jo. Article 132 Paragraph (1) subsidiary Article 113 Paragraph (2) jo. Article 132 Paragraph (1) is more subsidiary to Article 112 Paragraph (2) jo. Article 132 Paragraph (1) Law Number 35 Year 2009 concerning Narcotics, with a minimum imprisonment of five years and a maximum death penalty.
