KKP Disburses IDR 40 Billion To Build A Red And White Fisherman's Village In West Sumatra

JAKARTA - The construction of the red and white fishing village (KNMP) in the first 65 phase locations in 2025 has begun. For West Sumatra (West Sumatra) itself, there are two locations targeted for the construction of KNMP.

To build KNMP in these two locations, the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) poured out a budget of more than IDR 40 billion.

Special Staff to the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries for Media and Communications Doni Ismanto Darwin said the progress of KNMP development in the two locations had entered 15 percent of the stages.

Each location is located in the coastal village of Katapiang, Batang Anai District, Padang Pariaman Regency, and Padang Sarai Village, Central Koto District, Padang City.

"We continue to monitor the development progress so that the target time and quality of infrastructure is built according to the planning. The target is that by the end of the year the construction has been completed," said Doni after reviewing two KNMP locations in West Sumatra as quoted from his written statement, Saturday, October 18.

Meanwhile, the Chief Executive of KNMP Trian Yunanda who participated in the visit of two KNMP locations in West Sumatra admitted the importance of local government support in the implementation of the KNMP program.

This is important to minimize the occurrence of misunderstanding situations such as in Gorontalo which involve one of the community organizations (ormas).

Moreover, said Trian, the construction of KNMP also requires a lot of workforce.

"Currently, more than 100 local residents work in two West Sumatra KNMP locations as repairmen, repair assistants to heavy equipment operators. Later the work time will be added, divided into three shifts, so that the construction progress is significant," he explained.

Later, construction built in the area, including boat mooring; culinary central building; public gas station building for fishermen (SPBUN); fish landing shelter building; portable ice factory foundation; store building; office building; public toilet building; water tank building; garbage disposal site; and guard post building.

Then, the IPAL biotech building; canals and environmental roads; gate building; workshop building; portable frozen warehouse foundation; postharvest facilities building; docking building; fishing bale building; area lighting; revetment building; cool box building; parking area; regional fence; to generator machine house.
