Tangerang City Government Proposes Heavy Vehicles Through Toll Roads To Reduce Public Road Burden
JAKARTA - The Tangerang City Government, Banten proposed that heavy vehicle lanes including mining products transport trucks be directed to to toll road access to reduce the traffic load on public roads.
"Especially for heavy vehicles carrying mining products to the district, we hope they can be directed through the Kartaraja, Teluknaga and PIK 2 toll roads," said Tangerang Deputy Mayor Maryono Hasan quoting Antara.
Maryono said the Tangerang City Government fully supports the Banten Provincial Government's steps in strengthening the synchronization of operational arrangements for cross-district/city mining trucks.
He explained that the Banten Provincial Government is currently compiling integrated steps from upstream to downstream in handling mining truck activities that pass in eight districts/cities in Banten.
"The cities of Tangerang and Tangerang Regency are part of the downstream route for the distribution of mining products from the Lebak area and its surroundings. Therefore, synchronization of inter-regional trajectories is very important so that the policies implemented do not run alone," said Maryono.
The Tangerang City Government, he continued, has set six heavy vehicle monitoring points and implemented restrictions on operating hours based on Mayor Regulation Number 93 of 2022, which is only allowed to operate between 22.00 to 05.00 WIB.
"This rule is already underway, but in the future we hope that synchronization between regions under the coordination of the Banten Provincial Government can be stronger. That way, heavy vehicle traffic can be more orderly and does not cause disturbances in urban areas," he said.
Maryono, juga berharap agar ke depan jalur distribusi kendaraan berat dapat lebih diarahkan ke akses jalan tollar untuk mengurangi beban lalu lintas di jalan umum.
"Especially for heavy vehicles carrying mining products to the regency area, we hope they can be directed through the Kartaraja, Teluknaga and PIK 2 toll roads," he said.

Meanwhile, Banten Governor Andra Soni emphasized that the provincial government will immediately follow up on the results of the coordination meeting by arranging arrangements for synchronous operating hours between districts/cities.
"We want there to be uniformity in regulating the operating hours of mining vehicles throughout the Banten area. This coordination meeting is part of a joint step so that the movement of mining trucks can be more orderly, safe, and does not interfere with community activities," explained Andra Soni.
He also asked all parties, including toll managers and related agencies, to coordinate preparing technical regulations and ensure that the implementation in the field is really effective.
"The government has the authority to regulate this. If there is a toll road, it must be used. Do not let heavy trucks choose alternative routes that endanger the community just because they want to avoid toll fees," he said.
