Impact Of Immigration Rules, US Manpower Projected To Drop To 15.7 Million People By 2035
JAKARTA - The United States (US) President Donald Trump's strict immigration policy could reduce US labor by 15.7 million people by 2035. This, according to a report by the Axios portal, cites a study by the National Foundation for American Policy in Washington, DC.
According to the report, a decrease of 6.8 million people is estimated to occur in 2028.
Trump's aggressive action against immigration will cut the growth of the annual Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by about half a percent from the 2025 to 2035 fiscal year, according to the Axios report.
White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson told Axios that Trump's job creation agenda focuses on utilization. "potentials that have not been exploited in the domestic workforce," he quoted Antara as saying.

He noted that more than 10 percent of young Americans do not have jobs, do not receive higher education, or do not receive vocational training.
The Trump administration plans to prioritize the group to patch up labor shortages.
On the day of his inauguration as 47th US president, Trump promised to immediately stop illegal immigration and start mass deportation.
