The Attorney General's Office Removes Prosecutor Iwan Ginting Regarding The Barbuk Robot Trading Money Coverage Case
JAKARTA - The Attorney General's Office (AGO) has removed Prosecutor Iwan Ginting regarding the alleged case of collecting evidence (barbuk) in the fraudulent investment case of a trading robot alias a trading robot Fahrenheit in 2023.
Iwan Ginting has been removed from his current position, namely the Head of Sub-Directorate for Security for Regional Infrastructure Development and Other Strategic Sectors at the Directorate of Strategic Development Security of the Deputy Attorney General for Intelligence (Jamintel) AGO.
"There were negligences committed. What is clear is that the Attorney General has taken direct action against those related to such incidents. Several positions have been removed," said Head of the Legal Information Center (Kapuspenkum) AGO Anang Supriatna as reported by ANTARA, Friday, October 17.
He said this removal was the Attorney General's quick attitude in taking action against problematic prosecutors.
Regarding whether Iwan Ginting will appeal this decision, Anang did not provide an explanation.
"The type has been hit. If you are given ethics, you have the right to appeal. Please object to ethical imposition," he said.
Iwan Ginting's alleged involvement in the case of collecting money on evidence of the 2023 Fahrenheit trading robot fraudulent investment case was when he served as Head of the West Jakarta District Attorney (Kajari).

In this case, Azam obtained money from gratuities by asking for an "integer money" of IDR 11.7 billion from three legal advisors for victims of Fahrenheit trading robots investment, namely Oktavianus Setiawan, Bonifasius Gunung, and Brian Erik First Anggitya, during the execution of the case.
In detail, Rp3 billion was received from Bonifasius, Rp8.5 billion from Oktavianus, and Rp200 million from Brian.
In the indictment file by the public prosecutor (JPU), Azam is said to have distributed the money to a number of people, one of which was Iwan Ginting.
Iwan is said to have received IDR 500 million directly from Azam on around December 25, 2023, witnessed by Sunarto as the former Head of the West Jakarta Kejari Pidum.
