KKB Shoots Dead Residents In Cement River Nabire Regency
TIMIKA - Papuan Armed Criminal Group (KKB) reportedly shot dead a civilian in Semen River, Wadio Atas, West Nabire District, Nabire Regency, Central Papua.
Head of Damai Cartenz Operations, Brigadier General Faizal Ramadhani, said that based on the results of the initial investigation, the shooting was allegedly carried out by the KKB led by Aibon Kogoya by targeting residents' vehicles crossing the route.
In the incident, one civilian was reported dead and four others suffered gunshot wounds and abrasions.
The Hilux vehicle used by the victims was found to be heavily damaged with many gunshot holes in the body and vehicle.
The identity of the victim is as follows:
1. Masturiyadi (50) suffered a gunshot wound to the back of the right head, the condition of death.
2. Yance Maaki (38) a resident of Kalibo Round 2, suffered six torn wounds to the left arm, under the armpit and left abdomen.
3. Aser Kegou (45) a resident of West Nabire SP2, suffered a gunshot wound to his left arm.
4. Martinus Maaki (42) PNS, suffered abrasions on the face due to broken glass.
5. Ari a resident of Wonorejo Village, Nabire Regency, suffered gunshot wounds to his left and right arms.
"All victims have been evacuated to Nabire Hospital at around 11.05 WIT for further medical treatment," said Brigadier General Faizal.

The Cartenz Peace Task Force expressed its condolences for the loss of life in the incident and emphasized that the security forces would take firm action against the group of perpetrators.
"We strongly condemn the shooting of civilians. Joint forces have acted quickly to evacuate victims and are now focusing on pursuing the group of perpetrators responsible for this incident," said Brigadier General Faizal.
Deputy Head of Operations Damai Cartenz, Kombes Adarma Sinaga, said that his party had strengthened security in the West Nabire area.
"We are increasing patrols and supervision on routes that are considered vulnerable. Community security is the main priority of the Cartenz Peace Operation," he said.
Currently, he said, the situation at the scene was reported to have been conducive and under control by the authorities. S
The National Police's joint TNI (Polri) task force is still conducting sweeps and gathering witness statements to uncover the perpetrator's network and the motive behind the shooting.
