So It Is Jokowi's Day, Minister Of Health Budi Asked To Add Vaccines In Riau

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo reviewed the mass vaccination process in Riau Province. In his remarks, Jokowi asked Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin to increase the vaccine stock in the province.

"I ordered the Minister of Health to send more vaccines to Riau Province and mainly later used for vaccination in the City of Pekan Baru and in the City of Dumai," Jokowi said in a Youtube broadcast by the Presidential Secretariat, Wednesday, May 19.

It is known that Riau was included in the 15 provinces that Jokowi had warned against because of the increase in cases in recent times. Therefore, it is hoped that additional vaccine rations to Riau can control COVID-19.

"We hope that we can immediately achieve communal immunity and we hope that Riau Province can reduce the spread of COVID as low as possible," said Jokowi.

Then, if the number of COVID-19 can be reduced, Jokowi hopes that economic growth in Riau Province will be better and return to normal in the second quarter.

It is known, on the day Jokowi reviewed the mass vaccination process at the youth sports arena (GOR), which is located not so far from the Regional Building of Riau Province.

During the vaccination, the local government targets public servants, teachers, religious leaders, community leaders, and the elderly. About 10,800 people are vaccinated today.

Previously, Jokowi reviewed the construction sites for the Pekanbaru-Bangkinang toll road. There, the President wants to review the development of the construction of a 40 kilometer toll road that is included in the Trans-Sumatra toll road network.
