Police Arrest Former Acehnese Singer Simpang 1.87 Kilograms Of Shabu

The North Aceh Police Narcotics Investigation Unit arrested a man with the initials S (37), a resident of Bireuen Regency, Aceh for storing 1.87 kilograms of methamphetamine.

The suspect is a former Acehnese singer who was famous through the Birboy band.

"We arrested Wednesday afternoon (15/10) in the Gampong Beurawang area, Bireuen, along with evidence in the form of two packages of crystal methamphetamine in a package of tea brand Guanyinwang weighing 1.87 kilograms," said Head of the North Aceh Police Narcotics Investigation Unit, AKP Erwinsyah Putra. reported by ANTARA, Friday, October 17.

During the arrest with this code of disguise, the police found two packages of evidence from different locations. One pack was obtained at the location of the arrest, on his motorbike.

"Meanwhile, we have secured one other package from the bucket in the kitchen of the suspect's house," he said.

AKP Erwinsyah explained that the process of arresting through this disguise was quite tough, because the perpetrators had several times directed officers to move transaction locations, from the West Baktiya area of North Aceh Regency to the last to Bireuen.

Based on the initial examination, the suspect admitted that the methamphetamine was obtained from his colleague in Malaysia. Then, he received it from an unknown liaison, and then waited for directions from Malaysia to be handed over to the buyer.

"Through this method, the suspect received a wage of Rp. 10 million for every 1 kilogram of crystal methamphetamine sold," he said.

However, in this case, S acted without waiting for directions from Malaysia according to the agreement, so he tried to sell the methamphetamine on his own initiative.

The perpetrator admitted that this was the second time he had made a narcotics transaction, first acted as a courier, and now sold it himself.

For his actions, the suspect was charged with Article 114 paragraph (2) Subsidiary Article 112 paragraph (2) of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics, with the threat of death penalty, life imprisonment, or imprisonment for a minimum of six years and a maximum of 20 years, and a maximum fine of IDR 10 billion.

On this occasion, AKP Erwinsyah appealed to all levels of society, especially the younger generation, to stay away from all forms of abuse and narcotics trafficking.

"We do not provide the slightest space for narcotics criminals. Therefore, we hope that the community's active participation will report if they find indications of drug trafficking in their environment, in order to save the nation's generation," said AKP Erwinsyah Putra.
