Digimap Optimistic ESIM-Based IPhone Air Sales Will Be Successful In Indonesia

JAKARTA Digimap, a retail store certified by Apple Authorized Reseller, is optimistic about the sale of iPhone Air in Indonesia. This optimism still appears even though eSIM adoption is still very low in Indonesia.

In April 2025, the Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs (Komdigi), Meutya Hafid, revealed that the adoption of eSIM has only reached five percent. Although Komdigi has encouraged the use of eSIM, the majority of people are still interested in using physical SIMs.

This is a big challenge for Apple, especially in selling iPhone Air. As Apple's official reseller, Digimap believes in the sale of the thin iPhone due to its latest technological readiness and full support from a number of telecommunications operators.

GM Marketing Apple Business PT. MAP Adiperkasa Zone, Farah Fausa Winarsih, said that they have prepared strategic steps to facilitate the transition of eSIM for consumers. They have collaborated with various local providers.

This collaboration is carried out to provide convenience for customers who migrate from physical SIM to eSIM. Digimap even presents providers directly in their pop-up stores, such as those on Skybridge Grand Indonesia.

"In the pop-up store, we are working with our provider and we have a promoter who will help customers to migrate their manual SIM cards to eSIM as well," Farah explained when met on Friday, October 17.

According to Farah, the presence of promoters can help customers who have difficulty in activating eSIM independently. Consumers do not need to bother visiting provider outlets for activation. In addition to presenting providers, the Digimap store team has also been trained

This training allows Digimap staff to assist customers in the process of migrating from manual SIM to eSIM, even when providers are not on site. It should be noted that eSIM provider booths are only available on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
