Minister Of Public Works Accelerates Project Tender To Maximize Budget Absorption
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works (PU) is included in the list of three ministries with the realization of budget absorption below 50 percent, aka still low.
PU Minister Dody Hanggodo responded to this condition by accelerating the implementation of various project contracts and tenders ahead of the close of this year's budget.
"All tenders will be accelerated because we were ordered to build quickly and accurately. So, we are now trying to tender quickly, but we still maintain the function of prudence. If this is people's money," said Dody after being met at the Prabowo-Gibran Government 1 Year Event in Jakarta, Thursday, October 16.
Based on the KiTa State Budget report, October 2025 Edition released on Tuesday, October 14, the Ministry of Finance noted that the Ministry of Public Works only realized spending of IDR 41.3 trillion or 48.2 percent of the projected IDR 85.7 trillion.
According to Dody, one of the reasons for the realization of the budget is still low due to budget political matters that take a long time.
"At the beginning we were only given 29 percent, then it went up again, then it went up again. So, the budget politics took a long time. However, God willing, we will accelerate this December to be more than 94 percent (budget absorption)," he said.
Apart from the Ministry of Public Works, two other ministries/agencies are also included in the list of the three lowest regarding budget absorption.
