KISS Founder, Ace Frehley Dies At The Age Of 74

JAKARTA - KISS guitarist and founder, Ace Frehley, was reported to have breathed his last on October 16, 2025 yesterday. He passed away at the age of 74 after suffering from serious illness in recent times.

The sad news was confirmed and shared directly by the family through an official statement on social media.

The guitarist nicknamed "Spaceman" is said to have died peacefully in Morristown, New Jersey, accompanied by his beloved family. Ace is suspected of having complications from the injury he suffered after falling at his home some time ago.

The Frehley family felt very lost an important figure from their lives. "We are completely devastated and saddened," they wrote, quoted from NME, October 17.

"We are fortunate to be able to surround it with words, thoughts, prayers, and intentions full of love and peace in their final moments," he continued.

This sad news also made Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley devastated. They expressed their condolences for the passing of the musical colleague who initiated the birth of Kiss.

Through a separate statement, they called Frehley an "essential and irreplaceable rock army" during the most important formatative times of the KISS. "He is and will always be part of the KISS legacy," they wrote.

Ace Frehley has the real name Paul Daniel Frehley, was born in New York City in 1951. He became an important part of Kiss's birth as a band that stole the attention of loud music scene in that era.

For a decade they have been hiding the identities of the personnel, including Spaceman. Frehley decided to leave for a solo career, as well as battling the problem of substance addiction and internal tensions of the band.

After leaving Kiss, Frehley formed Frehley's Comet who unfortunately didn't get a positive response on the two albums they released. His solo career came in 1989, Trouble Walkin', so one of the sorters among music lovers.
