Menkomdigi Meutya Emphasizes The Importance Of Utilization Of IoT In Fish Cultivation
JAKARTA - Minister of Communication and Information, Meutya Hafid, emphasized the importance of eradicating Internet of Things (IoT) technology in all sectors, including in the accultural or fish cultivation sector.
Through the Facilitation Program for the Utilization of Digital Technology in the Aquaculture Sector, the government provided assistance as many as 60 IoT Microbubble Aerator devices to 8 Pokdakan in 8 villages and 4 sub-districts in the Sukabumi Regency area.
IoT technology has also been proven by the Cipancur Cimahi Farm Feed Fish Cultivation (Pokdakan), Sukabumi Regency, which was the program's target earlier this year, where they managed to increase tilapia production by 40 percent.
"This is a form of utilization of digitalization which is directly applied in the use case in the field by Nila fish cultivators," said the Minister of Communication and Digigi in its official broadcast quoted Thursday, October 16.
According to Meutya, the use of this IoT tool also makes it easier for fish cultivators because of their ability to monitor important parameters in cultivation ponds, such as oxygen levels and temperatures.
For this reason, Meutya also invites startup players to create innovations in sectors that are the priority of the government, such as in the field of food security.
